Learning Spanish – Have Booked My Course

One of the goals on my list is to learn to speak Spanish. I am a big fan of learning about different cultures and the best way to do this is if you can speak the language.  I want to be able to go to Latin America, Cuba in particular, and be able to converse with the locals.

I have now signed up for an evening course that will start in September.  I started learning Spanish a few years ago but because I didn’t get to go to Spain or Latin America during that time, I didn’t have the opportunity to practice so I have unfortunately forgotten most of it.

Now all I need to do is to start collecting together my Spanish text books and useful materials.  Its time to dig out the old dictionary and my notes on basic Spanish I feel.

I have just rediscovered a language based blogger.  Benny the Irish Polygot at Fluent in 3 Months is basically travelling around the world learning new languages every few months.  His ability to achieve this has really help to inspire me and will hopefully motivate me with my own actions.

A Radical Rethink – New Goals For Me And My Daily Cuppa

New Look To The Site – New Look To My Personal Challenge!

So I have had a total rethink for this site called My Daily Cuppa.  I initially started it in order to record my progress with the 101 things to do in 1001 days challenge.  However after carefully reviewing my list I acknowledged that the things that I had chosen where not particularly well thought out.

I sat down with a nice cup of tea, naturally, and thought about what it is that I really want out of my life.

I came up with the following things.  Each goal is quite large and will be quite challenging but I believe that the rewards will be that much greater.  In order to set a guideline I will initially state that these things have to be completed within the space of 12 months.  We’ll see how that goes.

These are goals that will hopefully help to create a better life and feeling of well being for not only me but for others around me, especially my family.

So here is my succinct list.

1 – Learn Spanish

2 – Earn £1,000 per month on the internet

3 – Identify and / or develop my own personal style – My own mini makeover

4 – Travel to Latin America – in particular Cuba

5 – Get back to a size 10

6 – Pass driving test

7 – Meet someone / “The One”

8 – Complete my home makeover

9 – Send my parents on an extended vacation

10 – Help members of my family to have a better life

11 – Do some volunteer work

12 –

As you can see, No. 12 is still blank.  I wanted to be able to round up the goals into an even number so I have to think about what my final goal should be.

Wish me luck.

I Watched Johny Depp in Alice In Wonderland For A Pound

I Saw Alice In Wonderland 3D Movie For £1.00

I signed up with a company called My City Deal which offers cheap tickets for lots of different types of things.  On this particular occasion, they offered cinema tickets for £1 each.  I immediately signed up with them and I got to see the 3d version of the new movie Alice in Wonderland with my sister in the centre of London for a fantastically cheap price.

It was a good film but not as great as everyone kept saying it was.  I love Johnny Depp and I thought that he, Helena Bonham Carter and the girl who played Alice, Mia Wasikowska, were really good but it wasn’t a film that I would rush out to see. It was definitely great to get the £1 deal so I would recommend registering with My City Deal for future offers.

You can get cheap meal deals, spa treatments, cheap day trips, cheap theatre tickets and lots more besides.

Find out more by registering with My City Deal today.
