Blogging Challenge – Day 7

A Little Bit Tipsy But Got My Work Done!

Where I work, it is not unsual for the team to get a couple of bottles of wine to drink as we get towards the end of the working day.

Well this evening, I shared a bottle of Pinot Grigio with a seasoned drinker.  Normally I can hold my drink quite well but I had not had any dinner.

I definitely felt the effects on the train home and had to concentrate so that I didn’t fall asleep and miss my train stop.

As soon as I got home, I made myself a strong cup of coffee and got on with my squidoo lens.

I still feel a little bit squiffy but I got my stuff done. Hurrah!

Here’s the round up for today.

Tasks Completed on Day Seven

  • Cleared My Emails
  • Completed A Squidoo Lens
  • Purchased a Spanish Language Course

I Finally Reduced My Email Content

I am sure that you are like me and have a ridiculous amount of unecessary email messages cluttering up your inbox.  I have read most of them but instead of deleting them, I feel the need to hold on to the information. This is not good, especially when you have more than one email account.

I finally decided that enough was enough and I simply purged.  I am happy to report that I have reduced my email from both of my majour accounts from a whopping nine pages down to just two pages.  There is still stuff I know I should get rid of but at least this was a start. It will be easier next time. Well it would be better if I didn’t let it grow again.  We shall see how that goes.

My New Squidoo Lens

Yes, I made another lens, and yes it is still all about the boots.  This time the lens is for Purple Cowboy Boots.

Actually I found that I didn’t have that much to say about that particular style of boot so I added a few other styles too. You will find a selection of knee high purple boots as well as purple ankle boots on this particular page.

Putting these lenses together is making me want to go on a shopping spree. It has been fun to do, even if it does take ages to put the thing together.

I Have Signed Up for Spanish Lessons

I recently signed up to a discount voucher website, similare to Groupon.  This particular site is called Wowcher!  Well, they were offering a Spanish course of  15 hours for just £45 (normal price £232) so I signed up right away.

One of my wishes is to visit Cuba , hopefully next year, and I would like to be able to speak the language.  I have already taken a couple of course so I hope that this new batch of lessons will help me improve and get me motivated to save and organise a trip.  I am very excited and expect to start the course in late October/early November.

Checked My Squidoo Stats

Some one recommended a website where you can track your URL and find out where and how they are ranking. This is a fantastic resource because you can get daily updates sent via email. The website is called Rank Checker Ace and is free and easy to use.

A couple of my lenses are ranking on page 2 & 3 of Google but not for their main keyword phrases.  Very interesting.  I look forward to watching them develop and hopefully hit the holy grail that is Google Page One!

That’s it for tonight. :)

Have Your Say: How are you doing with your email content? Is it a mess? Are you creating lenses? If so, how are they doing? Feel free to leave a comment below.
