Learning Spanish

So the Spanish lessons are going well at the moment. I know I am not making the most of them because I hardly ever do any extra work like learning new vocab or trying to meet up with Spanish speaking people.  This is basically down to pure laziness. However I have now signed up for next term’s class which I am very pleased about.

Travel To Latin America – Plans

I am definitely going to Latin America next year!! All I have to do is to decide exactly where I want to go and for how long.  My Spanish course ends in March so I will be looking to fly out in April.  Flights are around the £550 – £600 mark at the moment.  I am looking at working as a volunteer for at least a month and have sort of narrowed down my possibilities to either Guatemala or Costa Rica.  I need to do a little more research about both areas.

What Is It Like To Travel Alone As A Woman Of Colour?

One the most important issues that I want to find out about is what it is like to not only travel as a single woman but what it is like to travel while black.  This is not something that you will find in regular travel guide books so I hope to learn from fellow bloggers.

I intend to create a travel itinerary that will incorporate my dream destination – Cuba.  I have a few books and have been looking at the experiences of other bloggers for inspiration.  It is all very exciting.

Getting Fit

I have been managing to get to the gym 3 times a week.  This is more than enough for me.  Luckily I am able to go during the daytime which means a lot less people so I can get in, get on with my programme and get out.  I look forward to watching the weight slowly but surely disappear from my body.

Money Making On The Internet

My money making experiment continues.  I had a very successful October due to a Halloween inspired website I created. I love the True Blood books and television series so I set up a Sookie Stackhouse Costume website.  Lots of people ordered the tee-shirts, the apron, the shorts and blond wigs.  I look forward to increasing my earnings with my other websites so that I can eventually give up my job and finally be my own boss.

I have been busy writing lots of articles for hubpages. I set myself the challenge of writing 100 hubs in 30 days and I did it. I actually wrote and published my final article with 4 days to spare.

The writing wasn’t too difficult once I got into the swing of deciding on a topic, doing a little research and producing 3 or 4 articles per subject. I found that this challenge helped improve my writing skills but the main motivation was to make money for free. The more articles you write the more money you can earn.

I have now put the finishing touches to one niche blog and it is up and running.  I have added adense and also a relevant book from Amazon.com.  I have written 3 articles so far and submitted them to Ezine Articles.

As I am still learning about wordpress sites and themes, it took quite a long time for me to find the theme that I liked.  I was brave enough to try my hand at customising the theme so that I had it looking just the way I wanted.  Through trial and many many errors, I deleted codes until I got what I wanted.

At first I had decided that I wanted to have a total of 10 articles written and submitted for my niche  site then I would move on to the next.  However, after doing a little research (ok, snooping on other people’s articles) I realized that if I wanted to be successful, I would need to write a lot more than 10 articles.

I also know that I need to have some backlinks to the niche sites so I will write a couple of articles for Squidoo, weebly and an ehow article.

Roll on article writing……

Finding a niche market to write about is a very difficult thing for me to do at the moment. This is what I realised today when I tried to come up with ideas.

I set myself 3 tasks today and they were:

1.  Complete a job application

Done – Just need to do one more spell-check and I can set if off.

2.  Start researching a new niche market for my next website

I seem to have come stuck. I have looked at the products available on Clickbank but nothing really jumps out at me that I feel I could write 10 – 15 articles about.

I then went over to Commission Junction and thought about choosing a tangible affiliate product. However there is such a huge choice that it was a little overwhelming. Although I did find a couple of affiliates that I might consider adding to this blog to add a little colour.

Anyway, back to my search – I finally thought of something but I am not sure if it is a market with any buyers. I did some preliminary SEO/ Wordtracker checks and found that the keyword is being searched. I will check again in a couple of days before I decide to go ahead or not.

Oh, I almost forgot. The 3^rd task on my list was

3.   To write a post for this blog
