Send Me A Lover by Carol Mason

Send Me A Lover by Carol Mason was a fantastic book. I loved it right from the beginning to the very end. The story is about how this woman, Angela, is coping with the loss of her husband and watching her journey as she tries to re-connect with her life. Carol Mason also writes about the relationship that Angela has with her mother, which is on the one hand, very amusing and on the other very touching. I love the way she shows how incredibly annoying mothers can sometimes be when they are telling you this and that, treating you like you have never grown up. I think we can all relate to that.

I thought that due to the subject matter, this book would be a rather depressing affair that I wouldn’t be able to relate to as I have only lost my grandparents, who all lived very long and happy lives. This was not the case at all. I feel that it showed a lot of optimism about how it is OK to grieve and how it is OK for your life to continue.

Angela and her mother take a holiday to Greece and the descriptions make me want to book a holiday right now.

I would definite recommend this book.  Send Me A Lover is a chick lit that put a smile on my face.
