I spend a lot of time on the computer when I am at home and when I am at work. During working hours there is a lot of down time so this means I get to spend time surfing the net. Like a lot of workplaces, certain sites have been banned or blocked by the IT administrators. My workplace is no different. Facebook is blocked and all sub domain sites such as blogger blog and wordpress. A big message comes up on the screen with the warning “Access Denied”.
However I have found a simple way around this issue. The solution has been to subscribe to blogger blogs or wordpress sites via Google reader. Here I am able to read any type of blog to my hearts content. Everything appears, even pictures and images (did I forget to mention that these have also been blocked). Google reader has saved me from being bored out of my mind at work. It has also given me the chance to catch up on my reading while at work (naughty) so that when I get home I can get on the with business of trying to make money online.
If you don’t use Google Reader, I suggest you sign up for a Google account ASAP and start collecting together all the blogs that you enjoy reading.
