How To Reward Visitors To Your Blog and Create an Interactive Community

How To Say Thank You for Sharing OpinionsThanks Very Much

Yesterday’s blog post  about Helping Your Visitors To Enjoy Your Blog More, got some really great responses.  I am so happy that people were able to gain something from it and hopefully implement one, two or even all five suggestions.

Today’s post is more about creating a lovely sense of community at your online home.

A couple of great ways to help encourage interaction on your WordPress website is to enable the following two plugins.

CommentLuv PluginCommentLuv
People can comment and get rewarded with a backlink to their website. This is a great way to encourage people to leave a comment. You can decide whether to moderate your comments or let them appear automatically.

There is a free and paid option to choose from. If you want to know more about the benefits of this plugin go and read Bonnie Gean’s CommentLuv Review post and find out what else is included in the paid option of this plugin.

I saw that several bloggers were using this plugin and thought it would be a good thing to add here. This particular plugin sits in the sidebar widget and allows you to choose whether to show image gravatars or names of the people who comment on your posts.

Showing a list of people who comment can help to encourage others to leave a comment so that their name appears in the list. A link to the commenter’s website also appears, which helps you to promote their site, which is a lovely way to encourage cross pollination and community interaction.

You also have the option of showing the most prolific commenters for the week , the month or for all time.

It is best to add this plugin when you have a trickle of people regularly commenting as higher numbers will show people that your site is thriving with visitors and hopefully show that your online home is the place to hang out and chat.

I have just added the Top Commentator plugin to the blog :)

I will be looking at others ways in which I can make this website more accessible and user friendly to you, my guest, so that you enjoy your time here, however long or short it may be :)

Have Your Say: Are you using any of these plugins? Are you a fan of them? Let me know down in the comments section.
