I have just finished reading Positively Happy by Noel Edmonds. He is a television presenter who was very popular during the 1990’s but disappeared from our screens. He recently returned and now presents the programme “Deal or No Deal”.
This Noel’s own spin on all those books about cosmic ordering. His book basically discusses looking at life in a positive light and creating your own opportunities for happiness by being focused, playing to your strengths and stepping our of your comfort zone.
All of these things are relevant to me at the moment as I want to get a new job so need to focus on getting my act together, sorting out my CV and applying for things.
The main points that I got from the book that I feel that I need to focus on are the following:
- Create opportunities and luck will follow
- Focus on yourself
- Have a vision, a passion, and an overwhelming desire
- Live the life you’re living now – it’s the only one that matters
- Be grateful for what you already have
- Be proud of what you’ve done so far.
If I can concentrate on these ideas, then I should hopefully banish or at least minimise the negative and pessimistic thoughts that are always floating around in my head (like – I can’t do this, it’s too hard, it’s not worth the effort etc),
Positively Happy is a nice gentle book to help you reaffirm what is good in your life and if you want to change things up, you can do it but you have to make the effort.
