I know that it is possible to make money doing the things you love. Now I want to find out if it is possible to make a nice living doing a series of small tasks over the course of a week. This is the journey that I want to undertake.
I want to try out different things to see if they have money making potential and whether these ideas are a good fit for me and the type of work that is both motivating and challenging.
My Current Position
At the moment I have a real world job where I have to work in order to pay my real world bills. Luckily I do not have to commit to a full time 40 hour week and I usually enjoy seeing my co-workers. However there are days when I get really frustrated with the in-house politics and the lack of respect shown to the workers..
These are the times when I want to replace the real world job and earn my money doing the things that I enjoy. I would be able to work at my own pace and on my own schedule.
One reason I haven’t branched out on my own is because I do not have a clear plan of action in place. I tried to go freelance once before and it didn’t work out. I now realise that the error was due to not having a proper strategy in place. I ended up earning not very much and lost a lot of motivation and belief in my abilities.
This time round I want to play it much smarter. I know that I have to put some proper thought into extracting myself from the shackles of ‘The Man’. I have started to evaluate how much money I need to earn and the different ways in which I can achieve this.
My Money Making Challenges
I have decided to see if I can earn a specific amount of money by carrying out a variety of tasks. The idea is to come up with 5 or more tasks, that when carried out over the course of a week, they earn the equivalent of a nice weekly wage.
The only proviso is that I should enjoy doing the task and the task must generate money.
If I don’t enjoy the job I know I won’t do it and so I might as well stick with the real world job, even with all its hassles and irritations.
I have a few tasks in mind and I will work on one each month. This will hopefully form individual case studies which I hope to share with you.
I will most likely incorporate some of the things I am already doing, such as writing kindle books and making money with PLR. I am not sure how this will all work but I am more than happy to play it by ear.
If you would like to find out how I get on, add your email address in teh box below and I will send you regular updates of my progress.
I would also be very interested to hear if you have any ideas you would like to share. The jobs that I am considering will be online and offline work. My list of possibilities is by no way complete but I am very enthusiastic to get started.
This could be a real learning curve. I may discover tasks that could earn nice money but where I have to learn new skills. This would open up a whole host of brand new challenges and I am definitely up for it. Wish me luck. :0
