I have had a wonderful week. The highlight was meeting up with two friends for dinner and then we all went to see another friend do the first performance of her UK Jazz tour.
Rosalie Genay and Rebecca Nash, the pianist, have put together a fabulous album of covers, adding their own unique spin on each tune. They were accompanied by a drummer, a bass player and a saxophonist.
It was great to watch my friend up there on stage. The venue was lovely, the music was fantastic and I know that she will do really well on her tour. Good luck Rosalie.
What I Got Done
In other news – here is a run down of other stuff I got up to during the week.
I got some micro-blogging done and wrote and published 15 mini posts over at Bubblews.
I like writing there because I can just write about whatever comes to mind. The articles are around 120 words long on average. It is a nice way to get your thoughts out there and earn a few pennies too.
Here are a couple of recent posts:
I have just finished reading a book called The Frugalista Files by Natalie P McNeal. It is a year long journey about how this woman worked at reducing her debt. I enjoyed the diary style entries.
She is a journalist and started out writing about her debt busting journey as part of her job. Now she has her own blog and has written this book based on her experiences.
I think that this is a great book that could help show that it is possible to pay off your debts but to still have a life.
I was invited to an induction meeting for the children’s charity that I hope to do some volunteer work with. There were about 40 people in the group, including 3 men. Ages varied. This was a great opportunity to find out more about the charity, how it started and how it has helped children over the years. I will write a more detailed post about this soon.
A couple of days after the induction meeting, I received a letter containing details of my criminal background check. It came back clean! Hurrah – well, you never know do you. lol. Anyway, the paperwork is all in place so I am cleared to work with children. I will let you know what my first assignment will be.
Part of my get fit regime is taking part in a salsa class. Last week I attended an additional Salsa event. This is something that the club holds once a month. It was fun to take part in a dance class with different teachers and to meet a group of other people from the surrounding area. I got the chance to get a real workout so I know that I burned off lots of calories. Coolio. I look forward to attending the next event in March
This week will be filled with more mico-blogging. I also want to get started on a new kindle book. I know that if I do a page a day, I can get something finished by the end of the month. I just have to get the thing started.
Have Your Say: Have you had a productive week? What was the highlight? I would love for you to share your thoughts in the comments section below.
