Life is what you make it so you have to make sure that you are doing things that make you feel good about yourself. Once this happens, you are then in a position to be able to pay it forward and helps others in some way.
This year I want to ensure that I am doing things that I enjoy. I want to take the time to figure out what really makes me happy so that I can create the lifestyle of my dreams. There will hopefully be some financial benefit in the long run but at the moment, I am taking things slowly and letting my ideas simmer.
This is a little summary of what I got done over the course the past week.
What I Got Done
- Finished reading my second book of the year
- Wrote 2 blog posts
- Wrote 3 short fiction stories
- Wrote 15 micro-blog posts
- Applied to do some volunteer work
Reading – Just for Fun
I finished reading a book called Immortal in Death by JD Robb. It is a murder mystery story and has a female as the lead. She is Lieutenant Eve Dallas and works for the New York Police Department.
Set in the near future – the 22nd Century, the story is about the murder of a famous model. There is drama, a little bit of science fiction and a mix of romance too, which all makes for a very good read.
Writing – Short Stories and Micro-blogging
I got two more short stories written over the past week. They are both around 1,000 words long. I am hoping to write 5 more stories by the end of the month so that I can put together a kindle book. Not sure if I will get it done but I am going to try my best.
I also wrote 15 micro-posts for Bubblews, just writing little bits and pieces of whatever comes to mind. Here area few links as examples of what I have written:
- Flash Fiction Stories – Giselle
- Credit Cards are Tools of The Devil
- Ice Ice Baby by Vanilla Ice – Hits from My Jukebox
Other Stuff – Volunteering
I am looking into the possibility of doing some volunteer work. I have filled in an application to give some time to work for a children’s charity. I think that it is important to give back to your community, if you have the time, which I do. I will let you know how the process goes and if I am a suitable candidate.
So the coming week will be filled with more of the same; more fun reading, more short story writing and more micro-blogging.
