This week has been a busy one. I am just looking at my list of accomplishments and wow, I really did get quite a bit done.
I am giving myself a little pat on the back.
I hope you don’t think that I am bragging but it is lovely to be able to tick things off that To Do List and to not feel overwhelmed.
Let’s have a look at my weekly roundup.
What I Got Done This Week
- Recorded and uploaded this week’s video

- Drafted a post for my travel blog
- Drafted a sales page for my product

- Created 2 slide shows
- Promoted my short story
- Updated two kindle book covers
- Purchased a Domain
I Wrote & Published 3 Blog Posts
This week was all about sales and promotion. As part of the 90 Day Product Creation Challenge, I was working on my sales page so I made notes about the type of things that needed to be considered and it ended up as a blog post.
I also wanted to let the world know about my new shortie short story so I wrote up a promo post for that.

I Drafted a Blog Post for My Travel Site
I had a fantastic Saturday adventure and I wrote a blog post all about it. I wanted to get it published today at Part Time Travels but I am far too tired to complete the editing and upload the pictures so I will get to that later in the week.
I had fun writing the post and remembering the day’s events. I look forward to sharing that with you in a couple of days.
I Drafted A Sales Page for My Product
Although I have not finished my product, I have started work on my sales page. This is a great exercise because you can work out all the elements that you want to be sure are included in your product.
You may discover that there are gaps in your product offering so you can go back and work on improving your product while you are still in the development stage.
Working on a sales page also helps you to work out the type of direction you want to head in. Sometimes you can be working on a product but you forget to clarify the benefits. It could be the best thing in the world but if people are not sure why they should buy, they are not going to buy.
I know that I will have to return to my sales draft but it is good to have something to work from. It will be interesting to compare my efforts with the final sales page that I end up creating.
I Purchased a Kindle Book Product
In order to make money with kindle books, people need to know that your books are out there and on Amazon this means getting your book featured high up in the Amazon search results. I saw the sales page for Page One Profits and it sounded like something that could help me to do this.
The product, created by successful kindle book publisher Rachel Rofe and Mario Deal was being offered at a low price of just $9.97 so I thought I would grab it before they increased the price to $97.
This product consists of several videos and a couple of PDF tutorials. I have read through one and I did manage to pick out some nuggets. I still have to go watch the videos.
I am not sure if this product will help me but if I can pick up a couple of tips for under $10, then it would have been a worthwhile investment I think.
I Created 2 Slide Shows
I was over at Ana Hoffman’s site Traffic Generation Cafe and there was a great post on the effectiveness of creating slide shows. I think it was a guest post and the author made it sound so easy to do, so I thought I would give it a try.
I actually ended up putting two different slide shows together but I didn’t have time to finish the tweaks and upload them so I will share that with you in another post.
I Promoted My Short Story
I recently published Sasha’s Monday Morning Routine and I placed it in the Amazon 5 day promotion thing.
I am so happy to see that I have already received a lovely review, (no, I just checked and there is a second review – thanks Bonnie). I am grinning from ear to ear. I did my usual Lazy Girl Promotion tasks and now that it is out there, it is time to move on to the next stage. This is to bundle up four of these bookettes and offer the bundle for $2.99. It might work, it might not but I won’t know unless I give it a go.
This is the perfect opportunity to immediately implement the lessons from from the Page One Profits kindle book tutorial.
I Updated 2 Kindle Book Covers
I knew that I wanted to update some of my kindle book covers and I thought that this would be the perfect time. Below you can see the before images, which I threw together, and after covers by people with a little more experience. What do you think?
I got them done by two different people on Fiverr.com
Now I have 4 short stories / articles that I can bundle together, I hope that this will increase sales. We shall see.
I Purchased a New Domain
I kept trying to figure out how I was going to build a steady list with my product creation. I know that the product is very niche but my overall strategy is to create a series of products based on the same sort of fundamental template. I think that these would be suitable to market to the same people who initial sign up to my list.
I therefore decided to buy a general domain name where I will create a squeeze page. I will then create a nice autoresponder series and each new product I create will have its own domain name and sales page but I will have one list to market to. I think that makes sense. It does in my head anyway
I was going to buy the domain name yesterday but I am glad that I waited 24 hours to purchase because there was a special offer on today and I picked up a domain from Godaddy for £1.40. A steal.
I will be uploading my slide show there and will let you all know its location when it is up and running.
Phew, that was quite a bit done for this week. No wonder I am tired but I am feeling great. I am busy concentrating on the positives in life and I feel that this positive energy is helping me to feel that I can accomplish so much more.
Don’t worry, I am NOT going all new agey on you. Lol.
I have plotted out next week’s schedule and I am looking forward to the challenges with eager anticipation. Happy Days
